 Objectives of the Library

1.  To increase the Collection of Useful Books & Educational Journals n Magazines to cater the needs of faculty & students in each Academic Year.

2.  To attract more & more students towards the library through various Services, Schemes, Competitions & Campaigns related to reading & promoting books, e-resources, journals, magazines & newspapers etc. through them.

    2. Curricular Activities                                                                      

¨    Book-Bank Scheme - Under this schemes the Library Committee selects needy students from Degree, Junior & Self-Financing Professional Courses, and gives them full set of text books till their Annual Exam.

¨    Freeship Scheme - Under this scheme the Library Committee selects needy students from Degree, Junior & Self-Financing Professional Courses, who are Economically Backward and they are given the cheque of Rs.1000/- as Freeship.

¨    Scholarship Scheme - Under this scheme first 3 toppers from each class are given the prizes of total Rs.500/-, 400/- and 300/- by way of Cheques.

     3.   Co-curricular Activities                                           

¨    “Orientation Programme” - As a Part of a User Education an Orientation Programme is organized for new students every Academic year in the beginning.

¨    “Book-Exhibition” – The Annual Book-Exhibition is held once a year.

¨    “Granth-Parichay Exhibition” – 4/5 Book Displays on a selected Themes Annually on various dates.

News & Events 2016-17

1. University of Mumbai has considered the proposal of the Librarian Dr. Yojana Y. Patil for Minor Research Project and University of Mumbai sanctioned the Research Grant ofRs.26000/- with reference to the letter no. APD/237/459/of 2016 dated 15thFebruary 2016.

2. Law Committee visited the library on 13th April 2016. Principal Madam of K. C. College loved the Library Annual Report and took it with her.

3. EIBC started from 16th April 2016.

4. The Cheque of Rs.20800/- received for the MRP of Librarian Dr. Yojana Y. Patil on 25th April 2016.

5. Librarian Yojana Patil submitted Self Appraisal Forms for five years 2011-12 to 2015-16 to Dr. Apte on 30th April 2016.

6. Librarian Dr. Yojana Patil was invited as a Subject Expert as Management Nominee at Shailendra College of Commerce, Dahisar on 22/04/2016.

7. Library Staff Meeting for NAAC was held on 10th May 2016 in the Library.

8. Librarian Yojana Y. Patil submitted her MRP Bill file to University of Mumbai on 24th May 2016.

9. Principal of MNMG College, Khodala, Mokhada visited for collecting the donated books from our library on 2nd & 3rd June 2016. Total 3000 books which are not usable in our library and which are out of syllabus were donated to them. They took our library Annual Report with them.

10. Submitted “Library Annual Report 2015-16” to Principal Sir on 04/06/2016.

11. Yoga Awareness Program was held from 16th June 20116 to 20th June 2016 for Students by NSS with Ambika Yoga Kutir in the Library Reading Hall.

12. Granth - Parichay Exhibition-No.1 was held on 21/06/2016 on the theme “Yoga Awareness”

13. International Yoga Day will be celebrated on 21st June 2016. Yoga Awareness Program will be held for the College Staff by NSS with Ambika Yoga Kutir in the Library Reading Hall.

14. Received Rs. 22490/- grant for Book-Bank Scheme for the year 2015-16 from the Department of Student's Welfare, University of Mumbai on 22/06/2016.

21. IQAC Meeting was held in July 2016 for six days in the Computer Lab to finalize the SSR for the NAAC.

22. Librarian Dr. Yojana Patil was invited as a Management Nominee on the Interview Panel at J. M. Patel College of Commerce, Goregaon West on 22nd July 2016.

23. Book-Bank Audited Statement file submitted to University on 14th September 2016.

24. Librariry Orientation for FYJC – Un-Aided held on 22nd September 2016 at 3p.m. in the Assembly Hall.

25. Book-Bank Interviews were held on 27th September 2016 for the FYJC Aided & Un-Aided.

26. Librarian Dr. Yojana Patil was invited as a Management Nominee on the Interview Panel at Gokhale College, Borivali West on 6th October 2016.

27. Received new Canon LBP 2900 Printer on 07th October 2016.

31. Mrs. Sanjana Salvi, Library Clerk passed M.L.I.Sc. with 66% from YCMOU.

32. Shree R. N. Raut Scholarship Rs.2000/- given to Mrs. Sanjana Salvi for passing MLISc. On 04th November 2016.

33. Submitted printout of Final Self-Study-Report to Principal Sir on 04th November 2016.

34. Library Staff went for Supervision for TYBCom Exam from 07th November 2016.

37. Librarian Dr. Yojana Patil was called as a Judge at Annapurna Day Competition organized by Self-Finance Department.

38. Librarian Dr. Yojana Patil was nominated as a Member of "Library Audit Committee" at Sanskar Dham Education Society's J. M. Patel College of Commerce, University of Mumbai situated at Goregaon West, Mumbai for 2016-17. The Audit was held on 09th December 2016.

39. Library Clerk Mrs. Sanjana Salvi and Junior Clerk Mrs. Kalpana Swami went to attend Competitions for Non-Teaching Staff at M. D. Shah Mahila College, Malad West on 14th December 2016.

40. Librarian Dr. Yojana Patil was nominated as a Mumbai University Vice Chancellor’s Nominee on the Interview Panel as a Subject Expert at Bandodkar College of Science, Thane on 17th Dec 2016.

41. Librarian Dr. Yojana Patil was called as a Judge at Inter-Collegiate Elocution Competition organized by the Economics Department.

42. New (Library Server) Machine installed by Sunit on 26th December 2016.

43. All gents Library Staff went to attend Cricket Competitions for Non-Teaching Staff at Birla College, Kalyan on 27th December 2016.

46. Walk-in Interview was held for the post of Assistant Librarian on 2nd January 2017.

47. Principal Sir appointed Mr. Satish More as an Assistant Librarian on 02nd January 2017.

48. Principal Sir appointed Ms. Margi Trivedi as a Career Counselor in the library on 02nd January 2017.

In the Annual Award function Prof. Chandrakant Borle, Head of IT Department & Mrs. Bhanuben from JDT High School were awarded with the "Best Teacher Award" and Mr. Jayanti Patel from DTSS College was awarded the "Best Employee Award".

 10/10/2015: Mr. Pravin Misal was appointed as new Assistant Librarian from 10.10.2015.

 17/10/2015: Book publishing ceremony was held on 17th October 2015 for the book "Locke & Leibniz Controversies: Some Problems" written by Principal Dr. M. S. Kurhade, the welknown authority in the field of Education and Philosophy. The inauguration was done by none other than the versatile personality Dr. Sanjay Deshmukh, Vice Chancellor, University of Mumbai.

15/03/2013 : Gazal Samrat Shri. Anup Jalota will be visiting our College on 16th March 2013. There will be a felicitation program with Gazals by him followed by lunch for the Sanskar Sarjan Education Society's Management, Faculty, Staff & Invitees.

22/03/2013 : Publication program for the book "Reflections of a Wakeful Mind" authored by our Principal Dr. M. S. Kurhade will be held on 23rd March 2013. The book will be released by Dr. Shrhatti, ex-Principal of Lala Lajpatrai College.

13/04/2013 : Librarian Mrs. Yojana Patil has been conferred the "Doctoral Degree of Spiritual Healing" by Divine Blessings Academy, Texas, USA on 11/03/2013. She submitted the hard copy of her thesis in the IQAC Committee Meeting held on 13/04/2013.

06/06/2013 : Received Rs. 22967/- grant for Book-Bank Scheme from the Department of Student's Welfare, University of Mumbai.

21/06/2013 : Civil Services Study Center is organizing felicitation to IAS Dr. Yogendra Vakhare for UPSC aspirants on 24.06.2013 in the Assembly Hall.

01/07/2013 : Send off ceremony for Prof. Mary Suvarndevi, HoD, English Dept. was organized by the Degree & Junior Faculty in the Assembly Hall.
